* In-Site Error "Run-time error ‘70’: Permission denied"

1. Introduction

This error is caused by a previous version of In-Site still running on the computer. In-Site does not allow multiple instances of the program to be active. If it appears that all programs are closed and the error is still occurring it is likely that In-Site experienced an error and crashed however, the program is still running in the background.


2. Resolving the issue

  • Restart the computer. This will ensure that all programs are closed during the restart procedure. Once the computer has rebooted please re-run In-Site. If you still receive the error, please submit a new ticket with the error details and inform Soil you have already followed this article.

 

  • If you do not wish to restart your computer and you are an advanced user of windows, please right click on the task bar and select 'Task Manager'. The Task Manager window will appear, please select the 'Processes' tab. Organise the processes in alphabetical order be clicking on the column headings and search for the process 'In_site.exe' Once located click on the process to select and click 'End Process' In-Site will now be forced closed. Ensure there are no other In-Site processes and close the Task Manager. Please now start In-Site.
