Error message 25009

1. Introduction

Error message 25009 is commonly related to the field PC not being able to find the SD Card and can be caused by a number of reasons.

2. Possible reasons for this message occurring

The two most common reasons for this error message are, not allowing the SD card to initialise and the SD card becoming loose.

Please ensure that when turning on the field PC enough time is allowed for the SD Card to initialise. This can take up to approximately 1 minute following the display of the start screen which shows the date and time (Providing standard settings). If after allowing the field PC to fully initialise the error message still continues to appear please inspect the SD Card compartment to ensure the card is located within the slot correctly. This can be achieved by following these steps (the following instructions are for the Archer field PC, other field PC SD cards may not be inserted in the same manner however they should be easily accessible and similar):

  •  Remove the stylus.

  •  Unscrew the top screws until you can slide off the standard cap. The screws are designed to stay attached to the standard cap (see Figure 1.).

Figure 1. How to unscrew SD card cover

  • Remove the standard cap.

  • The SD card slot and CF card slot will now be visible. All Soil Instruments supplied Archer field PC's come complete with a SD card.

  • A fully inserted SD card should only have 2-3mm of the card protruding from the slot.

  • To remove the card press down firmly and release. The card will retract from the slot by appropriately 7mm. You can now pull the card out of the SD slot.

  • Install the card by inserting it into the SD card slot, and pressing down firmly. When you release, the card should only retract by approximately 2-3mm. If the card retracts further please repeat the process.

  • The field PC will require a small initialisation period to recognise the card.

To complete the process replace the cap and re-tighten the retaining screws. Please then use file explorer on the field PC to navigate to the SD Card and ensure the associated In-Port files are visible.

If you have any further queries, please submit a ticket on the support site or call Soil Instruments on +44 01825 765044 for advice.
